The shift towards digital events due to the ongoing pandemic made the a virtual Sellerbration only option for the eBay 25th Anniversary party. This was a website and live stream event for sellers on eBay to not only celebrate with each other, but network and improve their visibility within their community. For a smooth and intuitive networking experience, we implemented an avatar system for over 46,000 registrants that easily displayed how long they have been on eBay, as well as their seller category. Users could connect with each other directly on the event site.
A multistage website was launched that housed a pre, live, and post event experience. Each provided users with downloadable celebration assets, a store full of eBay-branded goodies, a snapchat filter (search eBay Party Glasses in the filter gallery!) and a section called Seller Stories for top sellers to share their life-changing eBay experiences.
Sadly, technical issues for the live event precluded user access to the site, so we had to host the live stream through Youtube. Despite this poor outcome, this virtual event provided a great exercise in UX/UI.
